As a Reno-Tahoe wedding photographer, one of my favorite parts of the entire wedding journey is the engagement session. It’s more than just “extra photos” — it’s a chance to connect, get comfortable, and start telling your story in a way that feels authentic to you.

This might be my favorite part of all.
Your engagement session gives us a chance to connect before the big day — you’ll get to know how I work, and I’ll get to know how you two interact.
By the time your wedding comes, it’ll feel like hanging out with a friend instead of a stranger behind the camera.
It’s especially helpful for couples who feel a little camera-shy or just want to shake off the nerves before the wedding. You’ll see how fun and easy photos can be, which makes wedding portraits on the big day feel effortless.
🎨 Creative Freedom & All the Good Lighting
On a wedding day, we’re working within a timeline — but during an engagement session, we get to slow down and play.
I can try new lighting, prompts, and locations that we might not have time for during your wedding.
It’s also the perfect opportunity to tell a piece of your story that’s just yours — your favorite coffee shop, a trail you love to hike together, or a snowy mountain that feels like home.
One of my favorite sessions ever happened during a surprise snowstorm — three feet of fresh snow, two pups, and a couple totally down for adventure. It was cold, it was magical, and it was so them.
