Shannon + Cody started their wedding day getting ready at Lake Tahoe cabins two doors from each other. One was Cody’s family cabin which he had been vacationing at since he was a kid–oddly enough, Shannon also frequently vacationed in Incline Village during her childhood. They had been both going separately for years before they ran into each other on vacation and realized it. Cody and Shannon have known each other since they were about 5 YEARS OLD!! But after a mission trip, they fell in love and made it official.

Incline Village was the perfect location for these two to commit their lives to each other, considering their connection to Lake Tahoe. They said their vows on the lawn of a family friend’s private estate that sits right on the water.

Fighter jets flew overhead 5 min before the ceremony began–which was a complete coincidence although guests asked if it were planned because Cody is a pilot. Regardless, Cody flew in on a water plane landing on the lake to kick off the ceremony. Shannon and Cody shared heartfelt vows and sealed their marriage with a kiss!

After cocktail hour, the reception was held in what felt like a fairytale forest. Flower arrangements were wrapped around the trees and twinkly lights were strung between them. It truly made the space feel magical. It left us all wondering if we’d spot a fairy that night.

The couple had all of their family and friends spanning from childhood, high school and college in attendance. The dance floor was never empty with nostalgic throwback songs for every season of Shannon and Cody’s lives. To close out the night, S + C exited on a boat off the dock of the estate. There was never a dull moment.
